Community Updates
IMPORTANT: I shared this message earlier this week, but it is worth sharing again. A team of 20-30 skilled volunteers with building trades experience is coming to Greenfield to help with home repairs. They’ll be arriving on September 20 and staying for about two weeks. Homeowners must supply building materials and their labor is completely free! If you need assistance, be sure to contact Jeremy Cooper at 641-431-1358 to secure your spot.
SHARE YOUR STORY: The Greenfield Public Library is collecting stories from the May 21, 2024 tornado. Stories can be turned in at the library or emailed to gpl@greenfield.lib.ia.us or contact Myra Lisk, 641-745-5785. Copies of the book will be available for those wanting a copy (details on that are still being worked out and will be shared in a future update). Myra may be reaching out to you in the coming days and weeks to ensure everyone has an opportunity to share their story.

Swap Meet Weekend at the Fairgrounds, opening every day today through Sunday at 8:00 am.
The Gathering Place will once again be holding a garage sale this weekend. There will be multiple families/tables set up in the basement. Hours: Friday, September 6, 8:30am - 5pm and Saturday, September 7, 8:30 am - Noon.
Greenfield Public Library Book Sale - Friday, September 6, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Wolverine Football: The Wolverines host Central Decatur this evening, game time is 7:00 pm. Reminder: All NV Students get free admission to activities this school year - bring the family and enjoy the game! Adults: tickets can be purchased via Bound.
FOOTBALL TAILGATE: The Greenfield Lions Club will host their annual tailgate on the high school grounds this evening. They'll be serving pork on a stick, corn dogs, chips, cookies and a drink for $5.00!!! They will serve from 5:30 - 6:45.
The Nodaway Valley Dance Team will be performing during halftime of tonight's game!
Car Wash/Fundraiser! Super Suds Auto Wash has been hard at work rebuilding, and they’d love for you to check out their progress! Stop by on Saturday, September 7th, and let the Nodaway Valley Girls Basketball team give your car a fresh wash! Come show your support for our girls' basketball team and see how far the wash building has come.

Youth Programming:
Voices Raised Community Youth Choir: Thanks to the generous donation from the Greater Greenfield Community Foundation received from Sue Shepard, there is no cost to register or participate. Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 2:45-3:30pm at The Gathering Place starting Wednesday, September 11th. Each participant will be expected to purchase a uniform shirt ($10-$15) and provide black pants and shoes for the performance(s). Click here for registration and more details!
After School Crew: Greenfield Public Library is hosting children ages 7-12 in the Junior Room inside the library from 2:30pm to 4:00pm each Wednesday for STEAM activities, crafts, and exploring the library. If a child can't make it at the start time or needs to leave early that is fine.
Early Out Wednesdays After School Club at the Fitness Center: Wednesdays during 2024-2025 school year. Saturday, September 21st 10am - 2pm, PHOTO RECOVERY EVENT at Greenfield Public Library. Many victims of the May 21st Tornado lost precious photographs. Please join Project Recovery Iowa and Greenfield Public Library for a free photo recovery event. Let us help you recover photos that may be found using technology and the internet. Complimentary printing, matting and framing will be provided.

Adair County Health System - Greenfield Clinic: The clinic has returned to its regular hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 7:30AM-6:00PM and Saturday, 8:00AM-12:00PM. You may park in the horseshoe lot on the south side of the hospital (this is the same as before). To schedule an appointment please call 641-743-6189
ACHS Outpatient Clinics and Outpatient Services: Outpatient Clinic services will be temporarily relocated to the administrative office area on the lower level of the hospital, on the south side of the building. The following services will be available: Cardiology, Coumadin Clinic, ENT, Infusion/Injection Services, Pain Clinic, Podiatry, Toenail Clinic, Urology and Wound Care. Please park in the horseshoe lot on the south side of the hospital and enter through the Public Health Door. Registration will be located in the administrative area just inside the public health entrance and is clearly marked. To schedule an appointment please call 641-743-7263.
Rock Valley Physical Therapy: Due to the ongoing reconstruction at ACHS, starting today, August 22, Rock Valley Physical Therapy will be temporarily operating out of the Adair County Fitness Center. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call 641-743-7259.
